Grit: strength of character that refuses to quit

When I commit, I don’t quit. I am a finisher.

… Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the
Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. As for
me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of
my death is near. 7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race,
and I have remained faithful.—2 Timothy 4:5-7 NLT

… I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are
dead. 2Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have
found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God.—Revelation 3:1-2 NIV

What’s your unfinished business?

Here is my advice: It would be good for you to finish what you started a
year ago. Last year you were the first who wanted to give, and you were the
first to begin doing it. 11Now you should finish what you started.—2 Corinthians 8:10-11 NLT

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish
the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of
testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”—Acts 20:24 NIV

I consider …………………… worth nothing to me!

Take the next step.

… being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry
it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.—Philippians 1:6 NIV

Personal Reflection

Read 2 Corinthians 8:10-11
1. What have you started that you still need to finish?
2. What are some differences between enthusiasm and endurance?
3. How could you focus more on endurance this week?
4. What specific things has God called you to do?
5. Do your actions show that you’re running for yourself or that you’re running for God?
6. In what ways could you run for God even more?
