VICTORY

The first prophecy of Jesus’ arrival in our world FORETOLD victory.

So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly, and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.

—Genesis 3:14-15

The need for this prophecy came directly after the devil knocked for the first time…

Now, the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?

—Genesis 3:1

When the devil knocks…

Jesus’ arrival and all the prophecies that were foretold and fulfilled in and through Him are the greatest defense against the devil’s craftiness.

The rhythms of God’s promises leave Satan defeated, not you!
The rhythms of the World leave you defeated, not Satan.

• Satan is the deceiver who attacks your mind with lies.
• Satan is the accuser who attacks your heart with accusations.
• Satan is the destroyer who attacks your will with pride.

…He [the devil] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the
truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native
language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

—John 8:44

LIES

THE DECEIVER QUESTIONED GOD’S WORD.

• Satan is the deceiver who attacks your mind with lies.

He [the serpant] said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not
eat from any tree in the garden’?

—Genesis 3:1

When you start to question the goodness of God, it is easier to disobey the will of God.

THE DECEIVER TWISTED GOD’S WORD.

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God
knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be
like God, knowing good and evil.”

—Genesis 3:4-5

When the devil talks to you about God, he lies.

Jesus’ arrival was the arrival of TRUTH in the Flesh…

For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged
sword.

—Hebrews 4:12

“God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand. I’m an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking. You know when I leave and when I get back; I’m never out of your sight. You know everything I’m going to say before I start the first sentence. I look behind me and you’re there, then up ahead and you’re there, too – your reassuring presence, coming and going.”

—Psalm 139.1-5 MSG

• Satan is the deceiver who attacks your mind with lies.
• Satan is the accuser who attacks your heart with accusations.

ACCUSATIONS

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation
and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his
Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them
before our God day and night, has been hurled down.

—Revelation 12:10

Before you sin: It’s no big deal. No one find out. Everyone does it! You deserve it! It’s only this once. You won’t get caught!

After you sin: You are nothing. How could God love you? Your life is ruined. Pathetic. Ruined. Dirty.

There is confidence in knowing that God thinks you are good to go! That confidence is why the devil accuses.

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

—Isaiah 6:8 NIV

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

—1 John 1:9 NKJV

The devil is your accuser; Jesus is your advocate.

Satan accuses—Wants you to feel guilty, experience regret and remorse.
Spirit convicts—Draw you to the presence of God to experience grace.

• Satan is the deceiver who targets your mind with lies.
• Satan is the accuser who targets your heart with accusations.
• Satan is the destroyer who targets your will with pride.

THE DESTROYER

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around
like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

—1 Peter 5:8

He destroys with pride…

THE DEADLY SIN OF PRIDE – “You will be like God.”

YOU MAY NEVER BE MORE VULNERABLE THAN WHEN YOU ARE FULL OF PRIDE.

Pride precedes destruction; an arrogant spirit appears before a fall.

—Proverbs 16:18

God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you… Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

—James 4:6-8, 10

The way Jesus arrived was simple – as a babe!

**You are never stronger than when you depend on God.

Humility isn’t a weakness. It’s a declaration of your need for God.**

Because Jesus Arrived, We Have a Destiny
• I will ascend to the heavens.
• I will raise my throne above the stars.
• I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly.
• I will ascend above the tops of the clouds.
• I will make myself like the Most High.

Because Jesus Arrived, We Have Victory…
“You are from God and have overcome the world, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”
