REDEMPTION FORETOLD
Throughout the Scriptures, from the very first pages of the Old Testament, a beautiful thread runs through every verse—a thread of prophecy, a promise of the Christ who was to come. Before the world began, God crafted a divine plan for redemption, destined for all who would believe and follow Him. He foresaw our need for a Savior and our longing for freedom. This journey is not just a story; it’s our story. It is a story of hope, grace, and the unwavering love of our Savior.
Week 1: God With Us (Isaiah 7:14).
Week 2: Named (Isaiah 9:6)
Week 3: Promises for All (Micah 5:2)
Week 4: Victory (Genesis 3:15)
Week 5: Celebrate (Genesis 12:13)
GOD WITH US
You’re not alone. The Christmas story welcomes those who are hurt and alone. God is with us in every moment. He’s with us through the pain. He comforts us in the waiting. He gives us courage and peace when we feel anxious…
Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they
will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.
—Matthew 1:23 NLT
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”
—Isaiah 7:14 NLT
GOD IS WITH US…
GOD IS WITH US IN THE VALLEYS
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your
presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the
depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the
far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand
will hold me fast.
—Psalms 139:7-10
We may enjoy God on the mountaintops, but we get to know him
intimately in the valleys.
Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on
pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place
of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from
strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.
—Psalm 84:5-7 NLT
What we think about matters – Because Jesus came – we know how to have His mind!
The way is through, not out! – Because Jesus came – we know how to have his Faith.
When you are in a dry place—dig a well. Because Jesus came – we know how to pick up our mat and walk!
GOD IS WITH US IN THE WILDERNESS
Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in
Judah, he left his servant there, while he himself went a day’s journey
into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and
prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my
life; I am no better than my ancestors.”
—1 Kings 19:3-5 NLT
Are you tired and depleted?
All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” 6 He looked
around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again.
—1 Kings 19:5b-6 NLT
Your most profound need becomes a gift when it drives you to depend on God.
What we say matters. – Because Jesus came – we know that when the devil attacks we fight back with the Word
Our identity matters. – Because Jesus came – we know that our identity in Him defines us.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed
in spirit.
God is with us in the valleys.
God is with us in the wilderness.
GOD IS WITH US IN THE STORMS
When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm
continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved. After they had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up before them
and said: “Men, you should have taken my advice not to sail from Crete;
then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss.
But now I urge you to keep up your courage because not one of you will
be lost; only the ship will be destroyed. Last night, an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me…
—Acts 27:20-24 NLT
The posture of our heart matters. – Because Jesus came – we never let the presence of a storm cause us to doubt the presence of God.
The purpose of our storm is to help others. – Because Jesus came – We know that what we learn in this storm will help someone through theirs.
God is with us in the valleys.
God is with us in the wilderness.
God is with us in the storms.
Jesus’ Press Conference
What is your mission?
“I will go to bring them life and life to full!”
Who are you going for?
“I’m not going for the righteous, but for the sinners – not the healthy but the sick!”
Why are you going?
“For the lost sheep—they need a shepherd and I am the good shepherd—and I will lay down my life for the sheep!
What’s the point?
“They must know that in their valleys, wilderness, and their storms, I am with them. I must show them my Father’s love! I will shout divine love from heaven but I will show it to them on earth.
I am Immanuel – and I am with them!
THE FULLNESS OF HIS REDEMPTION
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God… The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
—John 1:1, 14 NLT
The fullness of our redemption is found in the story of Him being with us.
