Chat Room Discussion Guide – Week 4: Governed by the Spirit

Theme: Living Ready in the Holy Spirit Age
Text: Revelation 5:12–13 | 2 Timothy 1:7 | Romans 8:5–6

Opening Icebreaker

What’s one small decision this week that showed whether your thoughts were ruled by peace or ruled by pressure?

Discussion Questions

1. Heaven’s Governance
Read Revelation 5:12–13.
What do you notice about how heaven describes Jesus’ worthiness?
How do those attributes (power, wisdom, strength, honor, etc.) reflect the areas of our lives that need to come under God’s rule?

2. Fear vs. Faith
Read 2 Timothy 1:7.
Fear is the counterfeit of heaven’s governance.
Where has fear tried to rule your thoughts lately?
How can the Holy Spirit bring love, power, and a sound mind into that space?

3. The Mind of the Spirit
Read Romans 8:5–6.
How do we practically “set our minds on the things of the Spirit”?
What daily habits, conversations, or rhythms help you stay spiritually governed rather than emotionally reactive?

4. The Holy Spirit Age
We live in the time between the throne’s rule in heaven and its full revelation on earth — the Holy Spirit Age.
How does being governed by the Spirit help us stay steady and ready when the world feels unstable?

5. A Sound Mind in a Shaken World
In your family, work, or relationships, where do you need to reestablish God’s balance of love and power?
What might change if you truly believed “the throne still rules” in that area?

Prayer Focus

Pray that the Holy Spirit would train our minds for faith and peace.
Ask God to help us live under His governance — that fear would lose its voice, and His love and power would rule every decision.
