The Best Is Yet To Come
As we come to the close of another year, it’s important to pause and reflect—not just on what we’ve done, but on what God has been doing among us.
This past year at Light Christian Center has been marked by growth, generosity, healing, and a deepening sense that God is forming something special right here in Alvin.
With the addition of Wednesday services, we now see over 200 people gathered weekly across Sundays and Wednesdays. Just one year ago, our average weekly attendance in the final quarter of 2024 was 97. That growth tells a story—not just of numbers, but of people finding community, hope, and purpose.
We continued to faithfully support our ministry partners in Africa, Mexico, and Convoy of Hope, giving well over $10,000 this year to serve people beyond our walls. Locally, we were able to provide over $8,000 in emergency aid, walking alongside families and individuals during moments of real need.
This year also marked the launch of our first-ever Summer Celebration—four nights of worship, kids ministry, VBS experiences, food trucks, and partnership with churches and community organizations. It was a glimpse of what’s possible when the Church shows up together, and we’re already dreaming about what Summer Celebration could become in 2026.
Perhaps most meaningful are the stories we don’t always see on a screen:
Marriages strengthened.
Families reunited.
Addictions broken.
Stability restored.
Faith rediscovered.
Worship has grown, and with it, a unique and tangible atmosphere—one shaped not by production, but by hunger for Jesus.
This year we launched Chat Rooms, developed new group leaders, hosted GriefShare, and saw over 50% of our active adult attendees participate in giving in the final quarter of 2025—a significant increase from the year before.
We also had the privilege of walking closely with people through counseling and care:
• 12 couples
• 23 individuals
We celebrated 11 child dedications and over 80 baptisms this year, bringing our total baptisms since October 2024 to 152 lives publicly declaring faith in Jesus.
None of this happens by accident.
It happens because of faithful volunteers, generous givers, courageous leaders, and a church family willing to serve even when the year brings challenges. On behalf of our leadership, board, and staff—thank you for creating an atmosphere where Jesus is clearly at work in Alvin and beyond.
Looking Ahead: Vision for 2026
As we look forward, we are stepping into two weeks of Vision Services, where we’ll share where God is leading us next.
In 2026, we’re placing focused attention on:
• Young Adults ministry
• Relaunching Kids Ministry with new curriculum
• Kids Church remodeling
• New leaders joining the team
• Strengthening discipleship pathways from first visit to leadership
We believe the seeds planted this year will produce a lasting harvest.
Help Shape the Year Ahead
We’re also inviting every part of our church family to participate in our End-of-Year Survey. This survey helps us listen well, make wise decisions, and support you as you take your next step in faith.
