In Week 1 of First Things First, we begin with PLEAD—the prayer movement of raw honesty. Through Psalm 143, we will discover that faith does not require us to deny what hurts. Faith decides where the pain gets taken.
Honesty is not faithlessness. Honesty is faith refusing to hide.
Sometimes the first honest prayer is not, “God, give me peace.”
Sometimes it is:
“God, I am hurt.”
“God, I am angry.”
“God, I am afraid.”
“God, I do not know what to do.”
