Personal Reflection – Week 1

Sin: The Truth About Us

Opening Thought
Romans doesn’t start with rules—it starts with a mirror.
Before we can understand what grace offers, we have to see what sin distorts.
Jesus didn’t stand outside the mirror pointing at our reflection; He stepped inside it.
He mirrored our emotions, carried our shame, and walked through every feeling that surrounds sin—without sinning.
Now, every time we look honestly at our lives, we can see His reflection standing beside ours.

Take time this week to sit with these questions—slowly, honestly, and with gratitude.

1. What do I see when I look in the mirror?

Romans 1 : 21–22 — They knew God but wouldn’t worship Him as God.
Where have I lost sight of gratitude or awe?

2. What truth about myself have I been avoiding?

Romans 3 : 10–12 — No one is righteous.
How does admitting that level the ground for everyone—including me?

3. How do I see God’s kindness leading me to change?

Romans 2 : 4 — His kindness leads you to repentance.
What area of my life is His kindness highlighting right now?

4. How is grace teaching me to think differently?

Romans 3 : 21–24 — We are made right with God through faith in Jesus.
What thought pattern is grace challenging in me today?

5. What reflection of Jesus do others see in me?

2 Corinthians 3 : 18 — We reflect the glory of the Lord.
What part of His reflection am I called to reveal this week?

Closing Thought
Jesus mirrored us first—He lived what we live, felt what we feel, and transformed what we couldn’t.
Look in the mirror this week until you see Him shining through the cracks.
