5-Day Bible Reading Plan

Theme: Sons & Daughters – The Covenant of Belonging

Opening Thought:
God calls us His sons and daughters, and in His family we find belonging, honor, and inheritance. This week’s readings remind us of our identity as His children, the call to honor parents and live honorably as parents, and the freedom we have in Christ to break destructive cycles and walk in covenant blessing.

Day 1 – Identity
1 John 3:1 (NLT): “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!”
Reflection: Identity is a gift, not an achievement. Before anything else, you are God’s child.

Day 2 – Belonging
Psalm 68:6 (NLT): “God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.”
Reflection: Families are God’s design for belonging — both in our homes and in His Church.

Day 3 – Honor
Ephesians 6:1–2 (NLT): “Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord… Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise.”
Reflection: Honor flows both ways: parents nurture, children respect. Honor is the backbone of every covenant.

Day 4 – Breaking Curses
Galatians 3:13 (NLT): “But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law.”
Reflection: Jesus broke every curse at the cross. Families must choose blessing over broken cycles.

Day 5 – Inheritance
Romans 8:17 (NLT): “And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory.”
Reflection: The greatest inheritance is not wealth, but faith and covenant blessing passed from generation to generation.
